ITJ Base Shuzenji is a 48 year old building inovated as a café, guest house and base outdoor tourists visiting the Izu Peninsula.
As our first facility for ITJ (Izu Trail Journey; a trail running race, holding up "Creating a new journey in Izu" as it's concept), we are aiming to become a base for outdoor sports and bicycle tourists visiting the oldest hot spring location in Izu, Shuzenji Onsen.
The center of Shuzenji Onsen is also the best location for sight-seeing visitors.

Shuzenji Onsen is a hot spring (onsen) area located in the northern area of Izu peninsula.
The history goes back to the Heian era, the time when Koubou Taishi established Shuzenji Temple, and is said to be the oldest onsen in the Izu area.
In the long history of Shuzenji, the historical remains, reffering to Genji in the Kamakura era, was loved by many great names in literature, such as Natsume Soseki and Akutagawa Ryunosuke.
Located by the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National park (Izu area) with a great view of Mt.Fuji and the Suraga bay, the area is a great place to set your base for trail running, hiking, touring, and other outdoor activities.

The coffee we serve in ITJ Base is roasted by the Hostel & Rotisery "Tagore Harbor Hostel", located in Heda, a harbor town on the otherside of Daruma-yama Mt. from Shuzenji Onsen.
Baird Beer is brewed in Shuzenji. We serve 4 kinds of craft beer from "Baird Beer Brewery", as the first specialty shop in Shuzenji Onsen.
